About

The only Marine Corps–specific veteran service organization

The Marine Corps League was founded in 1923 — in part by General John A. Lejeune — and chartered by the 75th United States Congress on 4 August 1937, signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. It remains the only federally chartered veteran service organization devoted solely to Marines.

Lake of the Ozarks Detachment 1137 is one of its local detachments, chartered under the Department of Missouri within the League’s Central Region, and serves the Lake of the Ozarks area from our detachment home in Kaiser.

To promote the interests and preserve the traditions of the United States Marine Corps; strengthen the fraternity of Marines and their families; serve Marines, FMF Corpsmen and FMF Chaplains who wear or who have worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor; and foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism.

Membership

Two ways to join

Membership eligibility is set nationally by the Marine Corps League and falls into two categories.

Regular Members

Open to qualifying Marines — those on active duty and those no longer serving — and to FMF Navy personnel.

Associate Members

Open to honorable citizens who support the traditions, heritage, actions and policies of the United States Marine Corps and the Marine Corps League.
